DESCRIPTION:Learn directly from The Fortress’s Golf Pro Nick Sears and Andrew Hoesman in a safe\, fun and competitive learning environment with The Fortress’s annual Junior Golf Camp on June 29-July 1\, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am for ages 6-9 and from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm for ages 10-14. This program is designed for all abilities. The golfing program will introduce fundamentals of golf to beginners and give more advanced players the proper techniques to improve their game. \nEach day\, players will learn the rules\, etiquette and technique of golf. Golf Professional Nick Sears will lead the camp with an emphasis on tee shots\, approach shots and short game. \nAbout the Instructors\nNick Sears\, formally of Flint Golf Club\, comes aboard with plenty of playing and teaching experience. As a graduate of Flint Powers\, Nick traveled to play on scholarship at Madonna University and was named Captain for both his junior and senior years\, leading the team to play in two national championships. Following his senior year\, he took on a coaching role for the Madonna Girls Golf Team\, helping them earn top 25 rankings in the NAIA all four years. This is Nick’s fifth year at The Fortress. Nick brings plenty of experience both on the teaching and playing side\, as well as the day-to-day operations of the course. \nAndrew Hoesman is a product of Frankenmuth\, Michigan\, and a graduate of Frankenmuth High School. He then attended Delta College\, where he played golf\, earning Freshman of the Year honors and competing in the national championship. Following his time at Delta College\, he attended Michigan State University\, where he was a member of the club golf team. \nAfter graduating from Frankenmuth High School\, Andrew took on a role as a varsity golf coach for the Frankenmuth High School golf team\, where he coached for three years. He is now on his second stint with The Fortress\, having previously worked as a member of the Pro Shop staff for three years before completing an internship at Forest Akers Golf Courses at Michigan State University. \nAndrew brings back extensive experience in playing\, coaching\, and golf operations. \nThe cost to participate is $75 per player for all three days.  To register\, please call the Golf Shop at (989) 652-0460. DESCRIPTION:Register now for the Suzann Pettersen Amateur Qualifier June 2-3\, 2026 at The Fortress Golf Course located in beautiful Frankenmuth\, Michigan. The Suzann Pettersen Amateur Qualifier is the official amateur qualifier for the Dow Championship. This single-entry stroke play event includes 36 holes played over two days. Field size will consist of 48 maximum contestants with the winner receiving an exemption into the Dow Championship at the Midland Country Club on June 8-14\, 2026. The winner of the qualifier will be able to pick their own playing partner and team up for the Dow Championship\, the only team event on the LPGA tour. \nClick here to view and download all rules and guidelines. \nEntry Fee: $175 per Player. Fee includes Monday practice\, competitive rounds\, welcome reception for players\, breakfast and lunch on both days of competition\, range balls pre-tournament rounds and a tournament registration gift bag. \nRegistration: Entry form and fee must be completed and paid online below. Registration begins Wednesday\, March 2nd and ends Monday\, May 25th\,  2026. \nAbout the Dow Championship\nThe Dow Championship was introduced to the LPGA Tour schedule in 2019. 144 of the world’s best golfers will tee off again at the Midland Country Club in Michigan\, June 8-14\, 2026. The Dow Championship is played with 72 two-woman teams competing in a 72-hole stroke play format with alternating rounds of foursomes (alternate shot) and four-ball (best ball).\nThe tournament was founded with the vision of building community and accelerating the efforts of the Great Lakes Bay Region and Dow’s strategy by building a world-class and unique LPGA Tour event that positively impacts people’s lives. \nAbout Suzann Pettersen\nIn her 19-year professional career\, Suzann “Tutta” Pettersen won 15 times on the LPGA Tour and 7 times on the Ladies European Tour including two major championships: the 2007 LPGA Championship and the 2013 Evian Championship. She also had runner-up finishes in the U.S. Women’s Open\, the Women’s British Open and the ANA Inspiration. \nSuzann’s consistency was evidenced by the 419 weeks she appeared in the top 10 in the World Rankings and the 146 top-10 finishes she earned while playing on the LPGA Tour. She is perhaps most known for her nine Solheim Cup appearances where she was one of Europe’s leading point earners.
